In 2016, the Federal Government of Nigeria, in collaboration with the World Bank, launched a Flagship Social Intervention Project called Social Safety-nets Project. The National Social Safety-Nets Project (NASSP) has two Project Implementing Units (1) National Social Safety-Nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO) and (2) National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO). The NCTO, supervised by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, and Poverty Alleviation (FMHA&PA), manages the Household Uplifting Programme - Conditional Cash Transfers (HUP-CCT), which supports eligible poor and vulnerable households across Nigeria.
The HUP-CCT provides regular and reliable cash transfers to these households, ensuring accessibility and alignment with program objectives. The main goal is to offer targeted financial assistance to poor and vulnerable households through an expanded national social safety nets system. The HUP-CCT’s slogan, “Beta Don Come,” signifies that better things have arrived, reflecting its development objectives and specific outcomes.
Our mission is to leverage technology-driven processes to establish a transparent, efficient, user-centred, and inclusive system for delivering social and/ or humanitarian assistance to vulnerable populations.
